__English Language Arts__

Reading

Students will work on using a variety of comprehension skills and strategies while reading a “range” of text in our reading curriculum Reading Wonders. We will be reading informational & fictional texts in which students will apply strategies to interpret meaning, draw conclusions, make predictions, and identify important ideas with supporting details. We will also work on how to cite text evidence from what they read and use the evidence to support their responses.

Writing

This quarter we will learn and practice Informative/Expository writing integrating the use of thinking maps, tribes collaboration, and chrome books (GAFE- google apps for education). We will be using the Wonders and Write from the Beginning and Beyond Curriculum

RTI- Response to intervention 30 mins a day 3x a week

Students are grouped to their abilities and in each session, they focus on reading skills, strategies, and small group instruction to meet their reading needs/help students increase growth in reading
