AVID Student Binder & Planner The AVID Binder is used to organize your child's homework, planner, and assignments in the various core subjects. Your child will bring the binder home and return to school daily. Please encourage your child to keep their binders neat and organized every quarter. They are taught how to arrange their binders in class. The planner should be where students refer to for homework and where parents sign daily to acknowledge completed assignments. The daily homework assignments will be posted online, but are subject to change. Homework should take approximately 90 minutes every evening to complete (unless there is unfinished work from class which may take longer). Parents are encouraged to discuss homework assignments with their child as this will foster a deeper understanding of the material.
